What it is

Chemical peels apply a controlled concentration of acids to the skin to accelerate exfoliation and epidermal renewal.

The acid (glycolic, salicylic, mandelic, TCA and combinations), the concentration and the contact time are chosen according to the indication, skin type and phototype — this is where safety and results are decided.

They are indicated for acne and post-inflammatory marks, pigmentation, dull skin and uneven texture, usually as a course of sessions.

Technology / material: Medical superficial and medium-depth peels, with the acid and concentration chosen per indication and phototype.

Frequently asked questions

Will I peel?

It depends on the type and depth. With superficial peels flaking is mild or absent; with medium-depth peels it is noticeable for 3–5 days.

Can I have a peel in summer?

Yes, but with a more conservative choice and strict sun protection. Stronger peels are scheduled for months with less sun.

Does it help melasma?

It can help as part of a plan that includes topical treatment and absolute photoprotection. Melasma is a chronic condition that tends to recur.

How many sessions are needed?

Usually 4–6, every 2–4 weeks, depending on the indication and response.

Is it suitable for darker skin?

Yes, with the right choice of acid and preparation, to reduce the risk of pigment change.

Indications, the number of sessions and the protocol are determined individually, after medical assessment. Results vary from person to person.
